Tony Hawk 14 inch Boys Bike Reviews
3 of 3 people found the following review helpful Good little Bike, January 5, 2011 This review is from: Tony Hawk 14 inch Boys Bike (Misc.) My 4 year old, much to his delight, received this bike from his grandparents for Christmas. It's a sturdy bike (we have the training wheels on of course) and he has no trouble maneuvering or pedaling it. It has hand brakes as well as the pedal brakes, he uses both. So far we've added a bike bell and are looking into a small rack to put on the back. Overall my son is very happy with his new bike and I find it to be of good quality.

My son received this bike (the orange "Otter" version) for his 4th birthday in 2010 and has been riding it at least 2 times a week since. At first I was weary of its construction, thinking the manufacturer wouldn't pay much attention to a toddler's bike's durability. But it's actually built solid like a rock. In over a year and a half of riding--and he rides hard--he's never broken a part, even after several spills where he got scuffed up more than the bike did.
Word of caution to parents who opt for the "Otter" bike--it does NOT have knobby tires like the green "Climber" version, but rather "Street" style tires which have a smoother surface and less grip. My son's wiped out on sandy street/sidewalk surfaces quite a few times because of this (especially on turns) because the tires slide on the sand like ice. I eventually traded them out for knobby tires, and since, the bike can't be beat. Go for it!
